Summary

This study looks at how social media and AI-generated beauty standards influence anxiety about appearance in people planning cosmetic surgery. Researchers will survey 145 adults before their procedure to measure social media habits, attitudes toward AI beauty ideals, and social appearance anxiety. The goal is to understand psychosocial factors that shape surgical expectations and to inform nursing counseling and support.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only, not medical advice or a prediction.

What this could lead to
Could help identify patients at risk of unrealistic expectations and guide nursing support to improve surgical satisfaction.
What could go wrong
This is an observational study, so it cannot prove cause and effect. Results may not apply to all cosmetic surgery patients.

This is an AI summary of the original study and may miss details. Read our disclaimer.
