New heart drug trial aims to ease strain for patients with thickened heart muscle
NCT ID NCT07023341
Summary
This study is testing an investigational drug called aficamten in Japanese adults with a specific heart condition where the heart muscle becomes too thick, making it hard to pump blood. The main goal is to see if taking aficamten daily for 6 months improves how well blood flows out of the heart and reduces symptoms like shortness of breath. Participants can continue taking the drug long-term if it helps them, indicating this is a treatment for ongoing disease management, not a one-time cure.
