New catheter technique shows promise for controlling irregular heartbeat
NCT ID NCT03963349
First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 31 times
Summary
This study looks at how well a special catheter (THERMOCOOL SMARTTOUCH®SF) works to treat paroxysmal atrial fibrillation, a condition where the heart beats irregularly. Researchers will track 150 adults for one year to see if the procedure keeps the heart in normal rhythm without serious side effects. The goal is to control the condition, not cure it, as ongoing management may still be needed.
