Summary
This study tested whether adding a chemotherapy drug called capecitabine after standard chemoradiation treatment could better control advanced nasopharyngeal cancer and prevent it from spreading to other parts of the body. Researchers compared two groups of patients: one receiving the standard treatment alone and another receiving the standard treatment plus the additional drug. The goal was to find a more effective treatment approach with manageable side effects for patients at high risk of their cancer spreading.
