First seen Feb 01, 2026 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 15 times
Summary
This study tests a new medical device, an adjustable carbon fiber plate, to close the breastbone after open-heart surgery. It compares the plate to standard stainless steel wires in 190 adults. The main goal is to see if the plate keeps the breastbone stable one month after surgery, while also checking for safety and complications.
