First seen Mar 20, 2026 · Last updated May 25, 2026 · Updated 7 times
Summary
This study looked at 140 adults who came to the emergency room with a fast heart rhythm called AVNRT. After a simple breathing technique (the Valsalva maneuver) didn't work, patients received either adenosine or diltiazem through an IV. The goal was to see which drug more safely and effectively restored a normal heart rhythm. The study compared the success rates and side effects of both medications.
