Smart prosthetic foot aims to make walking more natural

NCT ID NCT03532100

Summary

This study tested a new, experimental prosthetic foot designed to twist slightly with each step, mimicking a natural ankle motion. Fourteen people with a below-the-knee amputation tried walking with the device set to different movement patterns. The goal was to find the setting that felt most comfortable and reduced strain on the leg.
