Acupuncture needles may kickstart stalled labors, study finds
NCT ID NCT04744168
First seen May 25, 2026 · Last updated May 25, 2026
Summary
This study looked at whether acupuncture can help women who are past their due date (over 41 weeks pregnant) go into labor naturally. 128 women received either real acupuncture or a placebo version. The goal was to see if the treatment improved the cervix score and reduced the need for medical induction. Results may offer a gentle way to encourage labor.
