Needle vs. narcotic: can ancient therapy cut opioid use for cancer patients?

NCT ID NCT04459416

Summary

This study is testing whether adding acupuncture to standard pain care can help patients with blood cancers use fewer opioid painkillers during intense chemotherapy. About 300 adults with multiple myeloma, Hodgkin's, or non-Hodgkin's lymphoma will be randomly assigned to receive either acupuncture plus usual care or usual care alone. Researchers will measure opioid use and symptom burden to see if acupuncture provides meaningful relief.
