First seen Mar 15, 2026 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 6 times

Summary

This study looks at whether a 6-week program called Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) can help fathers of children with special needs become more psychologically flexible and improve their mental health. Fifty fathers will be split into two groups: one gets ACT with virtual reality, the other gets health talks and support. The goal is to see if this approach is practical and effective for reducing shame, guilt, and depression while boosting quality of life.
