Which tendon heals better after ACL surgery? new study investigates

NCT ID NCT06769711

First seen Apr 11, 2026 · Last updated May 25, 2026 · Updated 12 times

Summary

This study looks at two different tendon grafts used to repair a torn anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) in the knee: one from the hamstring and one from the peroneus longus muscle in the leg. Researchers will use MRI and CT scans to see how well each graft heals and how it affects the bone tunnels created during surgery. The goal is to find out if one graft leads to better healing and knee stability than the other. About 58 people aged 18 to 45 who need ACL surgery will take part.
