Sham vs. real: can a heart procedure ease symptoms for the oldest AF patients?

NCT ID NCT07403760

Summary

This study is testing whether a heart procedure called catheter ablation improves quality of life for people aged 80 and older who have symptomatic atrial fibrillation (AF). It will compare the real procedure to a carefully designed sham (fake) procedure where patients wear eye masks and headphones to ensure a fair test. The main goal is to see if the treatment reduces symptoms and improves daily life over 6 months.
