New drug combo shrinks prostate tumors before radiation in early trial

Summary
This study tested whether giving a combination of abiraterone acetate, prednisolone, and hormone therapy for about 4 months before radiation could shrink tumors and lower PSA in 45 men with high-risk localized prostate cancer. The goal was to improve treatment response before starting radiation. Results showed reductions in tumor size, PSA levels, and prostate volume, but ongoing hormone therapy is typically needed, so this is not a cure.
