This study tests a program called '5 Rs to Rescue' to reduce preventable deaths after surgery in African hospitals. The program includes regular check-ups, early warning systems, and team reviews. 6000 adults from 20 hospitals in Ethiopia, South Africa, Tanzania, and Uganda will take part.
