New MRI tech could spot prostate cancer without dye

NCT ID NCT07603908

First seen May 24, 2026 · Last updated May 24, 2026

Summary

This study compares two types of MRI scanners—the standard 3 Tesla and a more powerful 7 Tesla—to see which one better detects suspicious spots in the prostate. Researchers will enroll 200 men already scheduled for a standard prostate MRI and give them an extra scan on the 7T machine. The goal is to find out if the stronger magnet provides clearer images and could reduce the need for contrast agents.
