New scan aims to predict dangerous pregnancy complication before birth

NCT ID NCT07250412

Summary

This study is testing whether a special 3D color ultrasound scan can accurately predict how deeply the placenta has grown into the uterine wall, a condition called Placenta Accreta Spectrum (PAS). Researchers will compare the ultrasound images taken before delivery with what surgeons actually see during cesarean section surgery in 30 pregnant women suspected of having PAS. The goal is to improve planning for safer deliveries by knowing the severity of the condition ahead of time.
