First seen Oct 01, 2025 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 37 times
Summary
This study tested whether a 3D intraoral scanner can detect cavities, tooth wear, and fluorosis in children's baby teeth as well as a traditional visual exam. Researchers cleaned and examined the teeth of 36 children aged 3-12, then scanned them with a 3D camera. The goal was to see if the digital scan could replace or improve the standard check-up.
