Hip shape may predict ACL tears, new MRI study hopes to find out
NCT ID NCT07271277
First seen Jan 09, 2026 · Last updated May 26, 2026 · Updated 25 times
Summary
This study looks at whether a hip condition called femoroacetabular impingement (FAI) is more common in people who tear their ACL. Researchers will use 3D MRI scans to examine the hips of 50 adults with a recent ACL tear. The goal is to see if hip shape issues can be spotted early, which might help prevent future injuries. No treatment is given—this is an observation-only study.
