New drug targets root cause of deadly lung pressure disease

This study is testing whether a compound called 2-HOBA can help control pulmonary arterial hypertension, a serious condition where high blood pressure in the lungs strains the heart. Researchers will give 2-HOBA to 12 adult patients already on standard medications to see if it improves their heart function, walking distance, and quality of life. The goal is to see if this new approach, which targets the underlying cellular damage, works better than current treatments that only widen blood vessels.
