Radioactive 'Smart Bomb' targets Hard-to-Treat cancers in first human test

NCT ID NCT07595237

First seen May 20, 2026 · Last updated May 20, 2026

Summary

This early-phase study tests a new radioactive drug (177Lu-DOTA-SNA040) in 12 people with advanced stomach, pancreatic, or bile duct cancers that have a specific marker (Claudin 18.2) and have stopped responding to standard treatments. The main goals are to check safety, find the right dose, and see how the drug spreads in the body. It is too early to know if the drug works, but researchers hope it will deliver radiation directly to cancer cells while sparing healthy tissue.
