Nodular malignant melanoma

An aggressive form of melanoma, frequently metastasizing to the lymph nodes. It presents as a papular or nodular raised skin lesion. It comprises approximately 10-15% of melanomas. Morphologically, it often displays an epithelioid appearance.

Experimental drug dinaciclib tested in advanced melanoma patients

This phase II trial is testing the drug dinaciclib in 72 people with stage IV melanoma that has spread. The drug works by blocking enzymes that help cancer cells grow. Researchers are looking at side effects and whether it helps patients live longer or slows tumor growth.
