A rare, usually aggressive malignant embryonal neoplasm of the central nervous system occurring in children. It is characterized by the presence of neuroepithelial cells which form papillary, trabecular, or tubular structures and absence of C19MC amplification. Symptoms include headache, nausea, and vomiting.

Intensive chemo combo shows promise for kids with aggressive brain cancer

This study tests whether giving three rounds of very strong chemotherapy with stem cell rescue works better than one round for children under 10 with high-risk brain tumors. The goal is to improve survival without adding too many side effects. About 250 children will take part.
