B-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia
MONDO:0004947A neoplasm of lymphoblasts committed to the B-cell lineage, typically composed of small to medium-sized blast cells. When the neoplasm involves predominantly the bone marrow and the peripheral blood, it is called B acute lymphoblastic leukemia. When it involves nodal or extranodal sites, it is called B lymphoblastic lymphoma. (WHO, 2001)
Also known as: B lymphoblastic leukemia/lymphoma, precursor B lymphoblastic leukemia/lymphoma, precursor B-lymphoblastic lymphoma/leukemia, precursor B lymphoblastic lymphoma/leukemia

Can a Chemo-Antibody combo beat a tough leukemia?
Cure Stopped earlyThis phase II trial is testing whether adding the targeted antibody-drug inotuzumab ozogamicin to a standard chemotherapy regimen (Hyper-CVAD) improves outcomes for adults with B-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia. The study enrolls people with newly diagnosed or recently remitted…

Engineered immune cells take aim at leukemia that evades standard therapy
Disease control Stopped earlyThis trial investigates a new type of CAR-T cell therapy for people with B-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia (B-ALL) whose cancer has stopped responding to anti-CD19 treatment. The therapy uses a patient's own immune cells, modified to target several other markers on leukemia cel…

New combo therapy aims to wipe out leukemia cells for good
Disease control Stopped earlyThis early-stage trial tests a combination therapy for B-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia (B-ALL). It uses specially engineered immune cells (CAR-T cells and CTLs) followed by a dendritic cell vaccine to target multiple cancer markers. The goal is to achieve a very deep remissio…

New immune cell therapy targets Hard-to-Treat leukemia in early trial
Disease control Stopped earlyThis early-phase trial tests a new treatment called CD19 t-hANK for people with a type of blood cancer (B-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia) that has come back after previous treatments. The therapy uses specially designed immune cells to attack cancer cells. Up to 10 participant…

Experimental blood cancer drug trial halted early
Disease control Stopped earlyThis study tested a new drug called SAR443579 in adults and children with certain blood cancers that had come back or not responded to treatment. The goal was to see if the drug was safe and could shrink or control the cancer. The trial was stopped early, so results are limited.

New hope for tough leukemia: drug combo shows promise in early trial
Disease control Stopped earlyThis study looked at adding a targeted drug called venetoclax to low-intensity chemotherapy for adults with acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) that came back or didn't respond to treatment. The goal was to find the safest dose and see if the combination could help control the dis…

Targeted drug combo shows promise in blood cancer transplant study
Disease control Stopped earlyThis study tested whether adding the targeted drug inotuzumab ozogamicin before and after a stem cell transplant could help control leukemia and lymphoma. It included 15 people aged 12 to 75 with certain blood cancers. The study was stopped early, but researchers looked at safety…
