New injection aims to tame Ultra-High cholesterol in rare genetic disorder
NCT ID NCT07037771
Summary
This study is testing an experimental injection called zodasiran to see if it can safely and effectively lower very high 'bad' cholesterol (LDL-C) in people with a rare, severe genetic condition called homozygous familial hypercholesterolemia (HoFH). It will involve about 60 participants aged 12 and older who are already on standard cholesterol medications. For one year, some will receive the new injection and others a placebo, followed by an option for everyone to try the active drug.
