This study compared giving zinc alone versus zinc plus a probiotic (Saccharomyces boulardii) to 276 children under 5 with acute watery diarrhea. The goal was to see if the combination shortens the time to stop diarrhea and vomiting. Results can help guide simple, low-cost treatment for a common childhood illness.
