Could a simple zinc pill keep seniors out of the hospital?
NCT ID NCT07367412
Summary
This study will test whether taking a daily zinc supplement for one year helps older adults (65+) who visit the emergency department stay healthier and out of the hospital. Researchers will enroll 8,000 patients to compare those taking zinc with those who do not. The main goal is to see if zinc increases the total number of days participants are alive and living at home, rather than in a hospital.
