NCT ID NCT07439562
First seen Feb 27, 2026 · Last updated May 13, 2026 · Updated 5 times
Summary
This pilot study in Cape Town, South Africa, tests whether letting people starting or restarting HIV treatment choose their own support—like in-person groups, WhatsApp chats, or an AI coach—helps them stay engaged in care. About 140 adults will be randomly assigned to standard care, in-person support, or a choice of options. The goal is to see if offering choices improves empowerment and treatment outcomes.
