Choice-Based HIV support: a new way to keep patients in care?

Summary
This study tests whether letting people choose their own type of HIV support helps them stay in care. 140 adults starting or restarting HIV treatment in Cape Town will be randomly assigned to standard care, in-person group support, or a choice of in-person group, WhatsApp group, or an AI chatbot. The goal is to see if offering a choice is practical and acceptable, and if it improves patient empowerment and treatment outcomes.
