New drug combo aims to shrink ovarian tumors in Hard-to-Treat patients

NCT ID NCT07339553

First seen Jun 24, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This phase 2 trial tests two oral drugs, zeprumetostat and fuzuloparib, in 30 people with advanced or recurrent ovarian cancer who do not have BRCA gene mutations. The goal is to see if the combination can shrink tumors and delay progression. Participants first take fuzuloparib alone, then both drugs together until the disease worsens or side effects become too severe.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.

Active substance

Zeprumetostat and Fuzuloparib (two oral drugs)

What this could lead to

If it works, this could offer a new treatment option for people with advanced or recurrent ovarian cancer who have not responded to standard therapies.

What could go wrong

This is an early phase 2 trial with only 30 participants, so results may not apply to everyone. The combination may cause side effects like blood toxicity, and it is not yet known if it improves survival.
