New hope for youth in crisis: faster, tailored counseling tested to curb suicidal thoughts
NCT ID NCT07321171
Summary
This study is testing a new way to provide mental health care to children and teens who are having suicidal thoughts or behaviors. Researchers want to see if a flexible, two-step counseling model works better than the usual clinic care at reducing these dangerous thoughts and improving mental health. About 350 young people will be randomly assigned to receive either the new counseling approach or standard treatment, and their progress will be tracked for six months.
