Gentle yoga tested to calm minds and hearts of elderly

NCT ID NCT07340840

Summary

This study tested whether a gentle, recreational yoga program could help improve mood and heart health in older adults living in nursing homes. Thirty-six residents aged 65 and older were randomly assigned to either participate in twice-weekly yoga sessions for 10 weeks or to a control group with no special program. Researchers measured depression levels, activity satisfaction, and heart rate variability before and after to see if yoga is a safe, low-cost way to boost well-being.
