First seen Jan 10, 2026 · Last updated May 21, 2026 · Updated 17 times

Summary

This study tests whether a traditional honey paste (Yangxin Dawayimixike) can reduce plaque buildup in the carotid artery and improve cholesterol levels. About 422 adults with carotid plaque and high cholesterol will receive either the honey paste or a placebo for 12 months, alongside standard care. Researchers will measure changes in artery thickness, plaque size, and heart health over one year.
