New 'Y Incision' heart surgery could help patients with small aortic valves
NCT ID NCT07368322
First seen Jan 31, 2026 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 13 times
Summary
This study tests a new surgical method called the 'Y incision' for people with a small aortic valve who need a valve replacement. The goal is to see if this technique allows doctors to implant a larger valve, which may work better and last longer than standard methods. About 90 adults will be randomly assigned to receive either the new Y incision or a standard enlargement surgery, and their health will be tracked for one year.
