First seen Mar 09, 2026 · Last updated May 10, 2026 · Updated 7 times

Summary

This study looks at whether a liquid medicine called Xromi (hydroxycarbamide) can safely prevent painful blood vessel blockages in children aged 9 months to 2 years with sickle cell disease. About 180 children will take the medicine and be compared to a group of similar children who did not receive it. Researchers will track side effects and how well the drug works over 2 years.
