Shapes help deaf kids master sentence writing

Summary

This study is testing a visual teaching method called 'shape coding' to help deaf and hard-of-hearing middle school students write sentences with better grammar and word order. Researchers will work with 30 students in grades 5-8 who use both spoken English and American Sign Language. The goal is to see if this visual approach helps students learn to construct written sentences more accurately and efficiently.
