First seen Jan 09, 2026 · Last updated Jun 16, 2026 · Updated 27 times

Summary

This study explores using a special local anesthesia called WALANT, which keeps patients awake and able to move their hand during wrist fracture repair. Doctors will use a tiny camera (arthroscope) to guide the surgery. The goal is to see if this approach is possible and if it reduces pain and speeds up recovery. The study will include 12 adults with a broken wrist joint.
