First seen May 18, 2026 ยท Last updated May 18, 2026

Summary

This study looked at whether people with a broken wrist need to have the bone set (closed reduction) in the emergency room before surgery. 147 adults with wrist fractures were observed to see if skipping this step affected their pain and hand function. The goal was to find out if the ER procedure is truly helpful or can be safely avoided.
