New collagen patch tested to speed healing of severe wounds

NCT ID NCT06873867

Summary

This study tested if adding a collagen-based skin substitute to a standard vacuum therapy works better for healing deep wounds than the vacuum therapy alone. It involved 104 adults with wounds that had not healed after 4 weeks to 6 months of standard care. Researchers measured how quickly and completely the wounds closed, pain levels, and quality of life over 7 weeks.
