New dressing aims to slash infection risk after major cancer surgery

Summary

This study is testing a special wound dressing that uses gentle suction to help prevent infections after surgery for rectal cancer. It will involve 100 adults who have had radiation therapy before their operation. The goal is to see if this dressing improves healing and reduces complications in the sensitive perineal area.
