Summary
This study compared two methods for closing surgical wounds after emergency abdominal operations. Researchers wanted to know if closing the skin immediately after surgery or waiting 3-5 days leads to fewer wound infections and better recovery. They followed 82 adult patients for four weeks to track infections, wound healing, and hospital stay length.
