Can a Bystander's story help doctors spot a stroke faster?

NCT ID NCT07277790

Summary

This study tested whether a simple three-symptom checklist for stroke can be accurately scored by an emergency room doctor using only descriptions from people who witnessed the patient's symptoms. Researchers enrolled 235 witnesses who saw someone have a potential stroke and brought them to the ER. The goal was to see if this witness-based scoring method could correctly predict a stroke diagnosis from brain scans and if it was linked to people getting help faster.
