Online gratitude exercises tested in massive 8,000-Person burnout study

NCT ID NCT05636072

First seen Apr 23, 2026 · Last updated Jun 14, 2026 · Updated 6 times

Summary

This study tests whether brief, web-based positive psychology exercises—like writing a gratitude letter—can reduce burnout and improve well-being in adults. Up to 8,000 participants will try one or more tools online and complete surveys before, after, and at follow-ups up to 12 months. There is no direct medical benefit, but participants may feel better. Risks are minimal, though some may feel emotional discomfort when answering questions about burnout.
