Ultrasonic tool tested for smoother wisdom tooth recovery

NCT ID NCT07185620

Summary

This study compared two tools used during impacted wisdom tooth removal surgery to see which leads to an easier recovery. Fifty patients had their lower wisdom teeth removed, with half using an ultrasonic piezoelectric device and half using a conventional surgical drill. Researchers tracked patients' pain, facial swelling, ability to open their mouth, and overall quality of life for one week after surgery.
