New brain aneurysm device shows promise in clinical trial

Summary
This study tests a device called Surpass Evolve, a small mesh tube placed inside an artery to block blood flow to a wide-neck brain aneurysm. The goal is to see if it can safely and effectively seal the aneurysm without causing a stroke or other serious problems. About 248 adults with unruptured aneurysms up to 12 mm in size are taking part. The device is meant to control the aneurysm, not cure the underlying condition.
