New stent system shows promise for Hard-to-Treat brain aneurysms

NCT ID NCT04566263

First seen Mar 23, 2026 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 9 times

Summary

This study tested a special stent system to help treat brain aneurysms with a wide neck. A wide-neck aneurysm is harder to seal because the opening is large. The stent acts like a bridge to hold tiny coils inside the aneurysm, blocking blood flow. The study included 30 adults with unruptured wide-neck aneurysms, and the main goal was to see if the aneurysm could be sealed at least 90%.
