ER overload mystery: study asks patients why they skip their doctor
NCT ID NCT07046754
Summary
This study aims to understand why patients choose hospital emergency departments over general doctors for non-urgent medical issues. Researchers interviewed 194 adult patients in France who visited either an emergency room or an after-hours clinic for routine care. The goal is to identify the reasons behind these choices to help reduce overcrowding in emergency services.
