Scientists deliberately infect volunteers to fight whooping cough
NCT ID NCT06827470
Summary
This study aims to create a safe, controlled model of whooping cough infection in healthy adults. Researchers will give small groups of volunteers a weakened form of the bacteria through the nose to find the dose that causes a mild, temporary infection. The goal is to better understand the disease and test future vaccines or treatments more quickly.
