Simple white drape may speed up jaundice treatment in newborns
NCT ID NCT07156721
First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 25, 2026 · Updated 33 times
Summary
This study looked at whether placing a white reflective drape around newborns during standard light therapy (phototherapy) for jaundice helps lower bilirubin levels faster and reduces hospital stays. 102 newborns (at least 34 weeks gestation) were randomly assigned to receive either standard phototherapy or phototherapy with the white drape. The main goal was to compare bilirubin reduction after 24 hours, along with treatment duration and length of hospital stay.
