Can a workplace wellness program get assisted living staff and residents moving?
NCT ID NCT07785947
First seen Aug 25, 2026 · Last updated Aug 26, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This trial tests a program designed to help assisted living staff adopt healthier habits, reduce job stress, and encourage residents to be more physically active. Researchers will measure physical activity, sleep, blood pressure, and other health markers in both staff and residents. The goal is to see if improving staff wellbeing can also improve the daily function and quality of life for older adults in these facilities.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only, not medical advice or a prediction.
- Active substance
- A combined behavioral program: worksite wellness for staff (WHHIP) plus function-focused care training (FFC) to encourage resident activity.
- What this could lead to
- If effective, this program could improve staff health, reduce burnout, and increase physical activity and function among assisted living residents.
- What could go wrong
- This is an early-stage behavioral intervention, so results may vary across facilities. Success depends on staff engagement and adherence, and benefits may not generalize broadly.
