Summary

This study aims to find the safest and most effective time to pause nutritional tube feeding before patients undergo surgery to place a breathing tube (tracheostomy) or feeding tube (PEG). Researchers will measure stomach contents in 120 patients who have their feeding stopped at different times before their procedure. The goal is to create clear guidance that balances the need for good nutrition with the risk of complications during surgery.
